India's Enforcement Directorate conducted searches on three premises belonging to edtech company Byju's and its founder, Byju Raveendran, and seized "incriminating" documents and digital data. The agency has conducted similar actions against other firms, following a number of complaints from private individuals. Byju's is India's most valuable start-up and counts BlackRock, Lightspeed Venture Partners India and Sequoia India among its backers. The company said it is confident the matter will be resolved. The statement was released as Byju's closed a funding round and prepared to list its subsidiary, Aakash.
