Texas has become the latest state to propose a $200 yearly registration fee for electric vehicles, following over a dozen others who have imposed similar taxes, in an attempt to make users to pay for public infrastructure use. Exceptions for slow “Neighborhood Electric Vehicles,” as well as autocycles, mopeds and motorcycles are in place for the bill which has been sent to Governor Greg Abbott.
