Tim Grover's insightful words are a call to action, reminding us of the transformative power of obsession. It perfectly aligns with a piece of advice given to me by my basketball coach at a young summer camp, "When you lace them up, you come to play." 

These two phrases illuminate the essence of a legend that defined the sport of basketball – Michael Jordan.

Michael was a childhood hero of mine, his basketball journey was marked by an unshakeable obsession. Being cut from his high school team wasn't a setback; instead, it was a catalyst. This strong passion went beyond just a casual interest, propelling him to become a six-time NBA champion, a five-time MVP, and a paragon of the sport.

But Jordan's obsession extended beyond the basketball court. His collaboration with Nike gave birth to the Air Jordan sneakers, a cultural phenomenon that reshaped the intersection of sports and fashion. This is a lesson that is incredibly relevant to our careers and entrepreneurial endeavours. Like Jordan, we should not merely be interested in our professional pursuits, but rather become obsessed. In entrepreneurship, being 'interested' may get you started, but it's the 'obsessed' who create disruptive innovations, build empires, and leave a lasting legacy. It's the obsessed who 'lace up' every day, not just to play but to redefine the game.
