Sure, the numbers might seem daunting, but don't let the applicant count scare you from throwing your hat in the ring. 🎩

1) Filtering

LinkedIn allows employers to automatically filter job applications, meaning only a subset of those 500 made it to my inbox. 📥

When posting a job on LinkedIn, Hiring Managers set certain criteria for filtering applications, such as specific qualifying questions, years of experience, educational background, skills, and more.

BUT the "skills" at the bottom of your profile... that's where the money's at. 🤑

2) Skill Matching:

When posting a job, I can list desired "skills" as part of the job description. LinkedIn's algorithms compares the "skills" I list, with the "skills" listed on users' profiles. If there's a match, LinkedIn will notify YOU about the job AND suggest your application to me on the back end!"

Now that you know "skills" are how you're matched to and filtered out for jobs... go update them!
