Anthropomorphism (personhood / human qualities attributed to) of AI is a serious issue. It blurs the lines among those with rudimentary understanding of the technical attributes of such systems and contributes to polarisation into camps of pro and anti AI. It is a complex world, full of nuance, which behooves that we think carefully about what we say but also, importantly, how we say it.
