The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder brings some key upgrades to Nissan’s popular midsize SUV. Now entering its fifth generation, the Pathfinder gets a complete redesign with a more rugged, athletic look inspired by the company’s off-roading heritage.

At the front, the 2023 Pathfinder sports Nissan’s new signature V-motion grille along with a new front fascia and LED headlights. The profile has been sharpened with a floating roof design and a distinctive C-shaped D-pillar. At the rear, the taillights have been updated and the Pathfinder gains a new tailgate.

Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned with horizontal lines and a simplified instrument panel. A new shifter and drive mode selector have been added along with an available 12.3-inch digital dashboard. Higher trim levels feature a 9-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger.

The 2023 Pathfinder offers a choice of two engines: a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 284 horsepower or a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with a hybrid system that generates an impressive 20 mpg city/27 mpg highway. The V6 is paired with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

Nissan has also upgraded the Pathfinder’s chassis and suspension for better handling and a smoother ride. Available trims include the off-road oriented Pro-4X model with all-wheel drive, hill descent control, and drive mode selector with settings for snow, sand, and mud.

Safety has been enhanced with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 system that includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and more.
