I am proud to sit on the Advisory Board of NRG Lawyers, an organisation dedicated to reshaping the future of law by empowering Non-Russell Group graduates.

NRG Lawyers is thrilled to collaborate with Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP for "Shine," 🌟 a ground breaking social mobility event featuring Rayanne Ibrahim, Chloe Muir & Akil Hunte. This initiative is not just an event but a movement to highlight and address the underrepresentation of Non-Russell Group lawyers in the legal sector.

The Stark Reality:

Non-Russell Group lawyers face significant barriers in the legal industry. 🚧 A 2016 survey across 130+ law firms revealed that only 9.1% of Trainee Solicitors at city firms and 24% across the UK were from Non-Russell Group universities. This is a concerning statistic, considering over three-quarters of UK universities offering law courses are outside the Russell Group. Moreover, only 17% of lawyers come from lower socio-economic backgrounds, compared to the national average of 39%.

Our Mission at NRG Lawyers:

As a not-for-profit, NRG Lawyers on a mission to visibly transform the legal landscape. 🏗️ We aim to break down barriers and pave the way for future Non-Russell Group lawyers. Our partnership with BCLP is a step towards spotlighting and tackling this pressing issue.
