Or 

2) Work out what you can make and find a clever way to make people want it.

What truly hit home for me was the story of James Watt and his steam engine. 🚂 

Watt was more than a brilliant inventor; he was a marketing visionary. Picture trying to pitch a steam engine to mine owners entrenched in a world of horses and manual labour.

Discussing the technical specifics of steam engines simply wouldn't suffice.

So, what ingenious approach did Watt employ?

He coined the term "horsepower." 🐎 

This brilliantly simple metric communicated the steam engine's value in terms that were instantly understood: "Imagine this – replacing 25 horses with just one machine!"

This story highlights a vital lesson for us all: Innovation isn't merely about creating something new; it's crucially about articulating its value in a way that immediately resonates with your audience.

No matter your field – tech, legal, recruitment, marketing, or beyond – the way you communicate the essence of your innovation is as crucial as the innovation itself.
