Thought for the day: What is it like to know another person? I believe that it's a process of learning what they are thinking, and caring enough for that person to care what they want and need. To that end, we should all be thinking: Why do we want to know the people in our lives? What value do we see in these people (that maybe even others do not)? How do we personally evaluate the friendships we have? Why do we keep them? Why do we lose some? What values and goals in our lives do they match? It's an interesting exercise in trying to see 'why' we think and act the way we do in an attempt to live purposefully (and not just on auto-pilot).
