UX in the real world, let's talk about it. I live in Houston and Hurricane Beryl decided to drop-kick a bunch of trees on my property and in my area, knocking out power to millions.

I have a battery-powered fan and the power started draining on it so I just wanted to OPEN THE FRICKING BATTERY COMPARTMENT TO CHANGE THE FRACKING BATTERIES SO I DIDNT SWEAT TO FLIPPIN DEATH. 

This wonderful fan has little screws holding the battery latch in. Little freakin screws. Now I can barely see at this point because NO POWER, and I have no idea where my screwdrivers are. So I have to drive to the one store that is open in my area and buy a mini-screwdriver set and a whole bunch of random batteries because I couldn't see the batteries inside.

And of course, it uses a battery type that is NOT common and would require being ordered off the FRAGGLE-ROCK-LOVIN internet.

This is an EMERGENCY fan that requires waaaaay too much work to use. I would really like to talk to whoever came up with these two bone-headed decisions, use screws instead of the common slide-in latch, and choose a non-common, non-easy-to-find in the real world but especially during a natural disaster battery type.

I didn't have power for over 4 days and only survived because my neighbor ran an extension cord from his generator. 

Companies need to usability test real-world products and need to understand who their users are. Someone using a battery-powered fan is someone without access to power and most likely other amenities. FAIL.

Sorry for all the random F words. Good news is, I now have power, and am caffeinated, so PROGRESS!
