Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin (03/25/1942 - 08/16/2018), is one of the most beautiful and iconic artists in the world. Not only does she have an amazing voice, not only is she so popular in the music industry, but she's so influential. She helped shape the world. 

She was influential during the Civil Rights Movement. In 1967, she came out with 'Respect' and it was coined the anthem for both the Civil Rights and Feminist Movements. 

Besides the Civil Rights and Feminist Movements, how else was she influential? 

She used her voice, her talent, her platform to promote change, equality, and justice. She inspired generations and millions of people to stand up for justice and equality. She was unwavering in her commitment to use her platform to promote change around the world, emphasizing the importance of and need for equality and human rights. 

I chose her to give a good night message to. I was talking to a friend of mine this evening and we were talking about change, social justice, and equality. This bright, beautiful spirit (Aretha Franklin) came up during this conversation. Here's the message I take and encourage others to follow: 

She stood up for her values. Thus, stand up for what you believe in. Stand up for equality, justice, and change. Speak out against injustice. Stand up for yourself and those around you. Stand up for the values and beliefs of all people. Use your platform, your voice, your knowledge like she did, to promote change in this world. Be unwavering in your commitment to promote change in this world. Be unwavering in your values, as long as your values don't inflict harm or oppression on others. We need leaders and she was one of the most amazing and talented leaders. 

Family, there's a lot of evil in this world, and it takes all of us to stand up against it.
