Good Morning Family!!!

Today is 9/11 and a lot of things are being said about this day. I think it's important to emphasize the concept of "Never Forget." With respect to all persons involved in that horrific event, thoughts and prayers to all. Please, let's not forget the history and the events of that tragic day on what evil had caused. 

With the positive side, it brought many people, globally, into unity, regardless of race, gender, culture, religious ideology, age, and the like. 

Many people emphasize this principle of "Never Forget." What do various ideologies / principles say about "not forgetting the past"? 

In the Indonesian culture, and more specifically, in the Balinese culture, many cultural festivals are celebrated. A lot of the festivals are actually connected to their heritage and they emphasize the importance of remembering the past. For instance, in the Galungan celebration, people go to temples and offer sacrifices and pray to their ancestors and Gods. Additionally, the Kuningan festival is similar. Individuals celebrate history and their past through various rituals and practices. 

Alcoholics Anonymous says, "We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it." 

There are many things that we can learn from the past. If we take a moment in our lives today, and do some introspection, how much will we notice that change is required and necessary? How much will we grow in understanding of ourselves, our lives, and our actions? We will get closure from past decisions, from our regrets? Will we see things in our lives that we wish to not do or be anymore? Reflecting on our past can bring into our lives a new perspective, a new opportunity. Let's not regret the past, but let's never shut the door on it either. 

Thought for the day: Do some introspection. Become more aware of actions and thoughts that might not be helpful. Be understanding and compassionate toward yourself during this time of introspection. Allow yourself to experience what you might experience. 

Action for today: I will do some introspection and reflection on myself today. I will see what needs to change and I will see how I ca go about changing. I will practice self-love today through allowing myself to feel what I need to feel and through practicing compassion and understanding. I know these things are important for change and reflection and I will allow myself to continue down the path of growth, leading me to the light.
