LinkedIn announced on its website this week that it will update its user agreement, with the changes taking effect on 20th Nov 2024 and offer an opt-out option for AI model training. 

Greg Snapper, Senior Director of Corporate Communications, explained that generative AI services help users with tasks like writing resumes and messages to recruiters. He emphasized that LinkedIn has always been transparent about using AI, and generative AI is just the latest development.

You can turn off the feature by following these steps if you're using the Desktop version of LinkedIn. 

1) Click your profile avatar in the top right hand corner on the LinkedIn website. 

2) Click Settings and Privacy. 

3) Click Data Privacy. 

4) Click Data for Generative AI Improvement.

5) Toggle the feature off. 

To turn off the feature via the LinkedIn app, do the following:

1) Click your profile avatar in the top left hand corner of the LinkedIn app.

2) Click Settings.

3) Click Data Privacy.

4) Click Data for Generative AI Improvement.

5) Toggle the feature off.
