I found this message from the Ascension app on my email this morning: The Hebrew word 'shalom' meant more than simple 'peace', it referred to safety, welfare, health, prosperity, quiet, tranquility, contentment, and friendship. These are all attributes of the 'peace' that God speaks about to His people. God desires what is best for us, and He not only knows what is best for us, but He desires it the most. Neither Mary nor Joseph expected the news they received from God, but they specifically had to trust that God wanted only what was good for them. We can always trust God, always. In Luke 1:30, God tells Mary and us, "Do not be afraid." God wants us to trust in Him, it's our choice to worry or not, to be angry or not, to forgive ourselves and others or not, and to accept Him fully or not. God bless us all and allow us to hear His message of peace today.
