Being humble doesn't mean that we become a doormat in life. Being humble means that we take a realistic and honest look at ourselves and our lives. A Jewish proverb says to not look for more honor than your learning merits while a Norwegian proverb says that one should weep before your own door first before you sweep before the doorsteps of your neighbors. Personally, I find that these proverbs remind us to keep our focus on ourselves, taking our own inventory, while everything else is water under the bridge. Additionally, it tells us that while we take an honest look at ourselves, we should remain realistic about what we see. Peace & love to all ~ KO
