Robbins suggests that if you’re unmotivated or procrastinating, it might be time to examine if what you’re doing aligns with your values. 

The concept of “productive laziness” is also popular, especially among entrepreneurs. Tim Ferriss, for instance, encourages people to look for ways to get the maximum results with minimal effort. To Ferriss, “laziness” can drive innovation and efficiency if it’s harnessed the right way.

2. Patience: When Waiting is the Best Option
Patience is frequently touted online as a virtue, but it’s often misinterpreted. Rather than being passive or inactive, patience is about intentional waiting and finding the right moment.

   - Patience as an Active Choice: Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffett are often quoted on this concept. Buffett famously said, “The stock market is designed to transfer money from the Active to the Patient.” The idea here is that patience doesn’t mean standing still—it’s about strategically assessing the right timing for action. 
   - Mindfulness and Patience: Many modern mindfulness advocates, like Tara Brach, teach that patience involves staying present and grounded. In a fast-paced world, this can be counterintuitive but is essential for clear thinking. Brach suggests cultivating patience through mindfulness can help prevent burnout, even while still keeping an eye on longer-term goals.

3. Knowing When It’s Time for Change
Finally, there’s the difficult art of knowing when to make a change. Online writers and influencers often discuss how to recognize the need for change by reading signs of dissatisfaction, frustration, or misalignment.

   - Recognizing the Signs: Authors like Seth Godin argue that the need for change often feels uncomfortable before it feels good. In his book "The Dip", Godin says that if you’re constantly hitting roadblocks, it may be time to pivot. He advises people to “quit the things that are draining” but to keep pushing in areas where they see long-term growth potential.
   - Change as Part of Growth: Similarly, thought leaders like Tony Robbins encourage the belief that if you’re not changing, you’re not growing. Robbins is big on the importance of tuning in to feelings of restlessness or complacency. He suggests that such feelings don’t mean laziness or a lack of patience, but that it’s time to shake things up, to set new goals, or perhaps even to shift direction.

Balancing the Three: Laziness, Patience, and Change
Ultimately, the best writers and their ideas on these subjects offer a view of balance. Laziness can often be an indicator to reflect; patience can be a reminder to stay steady and strategic; and knowing when to change is a key to staying adaptable and aligned with one’s personal and professional goals.

Keeping a firm grip on Purpose
Your values and your goals are guiding lights to your purpose. If you define these well, your decisions become rather easy, and keeping your inner peace and happiness also become relatively easy. When you allow others to take your peace - bad relationships, selfishness, greed, conditional love, etc - you've made the choice to suffer. Bad things will happen even to the best of us, but how we react and make room for the most important things (the things in alignment with our values, goals, and purpose) allows us to grow and be happier even while going through "terrible times".
