Empathy and sympathy are often used interchangeably when talking to people, yet they have wildly different meanings. When they are used, the goal is often to respond emotionally to another person's circumstances. Sympathy, however, is responding without connecting emotionally to someone while empathy is connecting emotionally. It is often said that sympathy separates us while empathy brings us together. Sympathy keeps and maintains a distance between people. Empathy, on the other hand, allows us to be present. I challenge you to be present in the moment today. Peace & love to all ~ KO
