How to Reach Rohtang Pass from Manali?

Rohtang Pass is a magical destination, a paradise for adventure seekers and nature lovers who are visiting Manali. But do you know why it is called Rohtang Pass? The name Rohtang means 'ground of corpses' - several people working in CBRE died whilst trying to cross it. Rohtang Pass is a beautiful and easy drive from Manali. 51 km away, it’s a popular spot for snow and views. You can hire a taxi or drive yourself but make sure to get permit online or in Manali before you start. 

The drive takes 2-3 hours and the views are stunning. For a budget option you can take HPTDC bus which runs during summer. Another option is to book a guided tour with one of the many travel agencies in Manali which includes transportation, permit and sightseeing. The pass is open from May to October so always check weather and road conditions before you plan to visit. The visit timings are from 6 am to 5 pm. Note that it remains closed every Tuesday for maintenance.
