~ Regrets ~ Recovery programs teach us about regrets in life. Alcoholics Anonymous says, “We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it.” On Philosophy Talk, the authors wrote about regret being a feeling of sadness or disappointment over the past, which could be related to a missed opportunity or some type of loss. This is interesting, especially with the fact that the past cannot be changed. But this feeling of regret is telling us something. Jared Keller wrote a piece on ‘No Regets’ and he talked about regret being “counter” to accomplishments in our lives. He wrote about the term YOLO: You Only Live Once.
