Varanasi to Ayodhya by Road

Travelling by road is the most popular way to get from Varanasi to Ayodhya. You have flexibility and can stop whenever you want to see the countryside. You have three options:

Via NH 731 and NH 330
This is the most used route which is 219 km and takes around 4 to 5 hours. The road is well maintained and passes through Jaunpur and Sultanpur with a mix of straight highways and countryside. This route is good for families or groups travelling together. You can hire a private car or rent a tempo traveller for Varanasi to Ayodhya  through this route. Roadside eateries and dhabas make this journey comfortable.

Via Purvanchal Expressway
This route is 232 km long and takes 5 hours to cover. Known for its smooth roads and modern infrastructure this route is best for those who want a fast and comfortable ride. But some of the connecting roads to the expressway require caution.

Via NH 135A
This route is less crowded and stretches over 230 km and can be covered in 5 hours. A quiet ride through the rural areas is good for those who want peace and scenic views. But road conditions on this route may vary so better check the latest updates before opting for this route.
