My personal "Ghent Altarpiece" !

As my 50th birthday approaches I would like to take some time to look back and fiil you in on a story. A story that can have several titles:

Half way my century of life on this earth !

Time to tear down the house and build a castle !

The benefits of a life of skill stacking !

The name of the blog is the third title: the benefits of a life of skill stacking. It has been crucial for me and will gain even more importance in the years to come, for me, but for all of us on this beautiful planet earth. What skill stacking is, why it determined my life and why it is do important will become clear as the blog further unfolds and you will probably understand my website or resumé even more.

Some people work whole their life to create their masterpiece, their Mona Lisa. I approached my life a little different. My example, where my fellow Maaseikers (or Maaseyckers in old Dutch), the brothers Hubert & Jan van Eyck. They created the “Ghent Altarpiece” (or “Het Lam Gods” in Dutch) between 1420 and 1432. You can witness the work in the Sint Bavos Cathedral in Ghent, Belgium. The work itself exists out of 12 different panels. All through my first 50 years of life, like the different panels, I stacked different skills into my own “Jürgen’s Altarpiece” !  As I finish it, it is time to share it. Tell you the story behind it. Explain the other titles. Enlighten you why I am so eager to dive into that second half of my century of life on this earth.
