Checking in was quick via the machines, although they did have some lines for drop-off of baggage. Spirit is much maligned, but if you understand what you're signing up for, it's completely okay. I brought my own snacks and was really upfront about bag fees in advance. The gate agents were friendly, and the boarding was nicely managed.
