Recently I started looking into the trading of carbon credits and was mildly surprised to find out that from YTD almost all countries and voluntary markets are down. While the Paris Agreement was meant to make strides in carbon reduction its promises seem to be falling short. In terms of Carbon Trading the lack of penalties for not meeting the Nationally Determined Contributions are clearly a problem as the fall of Carbon credit prices are likely a problem of companies caring less rather than a surplus in carbon reduction projects.
