You could say that Google has a somewhat catchy name, but what most people don't know is that is was almost called "BackRub". When it first launched, the search engine focused on analyzing backlinks, so the founders were going to name it "BackRub". Thankfully, they rebranded–could you imagine saying "BackRub it" instead of "Google it"?
