With the current situation with ICE, I started wondering “How much will deportations affect the US economy?” Contrary to certain perspectives pushed, undocumented immigrants aren’t actually doing harm to the economy but actually uplifting it by providing an immense number of jobs and tax money. Productivity is great for America and the contributions made by the undocumented are very valuable. Furthermore they don’t get any of the benefits of taxes making their work even more beneficial to our economy. If the narrative that undocumented immigrants aren’t lazy and unproductive is continued to be pushed I think a quantification of their work would do much to disprove this image.
