After Trumps recent bombing of 3 nuclear sites in Iran, Iran has threatened to close its Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil shipments, leaving significant impacts on economies across the world. Approximately one fifth of the world oil consumption and a third of the worlds liquified natural gas passes through the Strait daily, while Iran has been threatening to shut it down for a while it may actually do so with the recent attack. This decision will be a significant blow to Iran’s economy, but the question I have is; who will be more affected? Iran or the US, a country extremely reliant on oil from the Middle East and one that is already struggling with its economy .
