The Braj Chaurasi Kos Yatra is a sacred journey that takes you through the land of Lord Krishna. This region is known as Braj Bhoomi. It includes holy places like Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, Govardhan, Barsana, and Nandgaon. The word “Chaurasi” means 84 and “Kos” is an old unit of distance. One kos is about 3 kilometers. So 84 kos is about 252 kilometers. Devotees visit several temples and holy places where Lord Krishna lived and played during his early years.

This yatra can be completed in 7 to 12 days depending on your speed and choice of transport. Some people do the full journey on foot which takes more time. Others go by car, auto, or tempo traveller. If you want a comfortable journey with family or elders, a vehicle is a better choice.

The best time to visit the yatra is between October and March. The weather is pleasant and good for walking or traveling. The month of Kartik (October-November) is considered very holy.
