American robins are one of the first birds to sing at dawn and are often seen as a sign that spring has arrived. They can have two to three broods in a single season and often return to the same nesting spot. Their eggs are a striking sky blue, which is so iconic it’s inspired a paint color: “robin’s egg blue.”
