Some turtles can breathe through their butts -- specifically, through a process called cloacal respiration during hibernation. Sea turtles can migrate thousands of miles across oceans to return to the beach where they were born. Their shells are part of their skeletons, fused with their spine and ribs, making them inseparable from their bodies.
