Not my words, but powerful ones from Amelia Sordell I read recently that hit me hard.

They took me back to 2019, the early days of building my legal recruitment business and the Legally Speaking Podcast™:

👉 When people laughed at what I was creating.
👉 When the teasing was louder than the support.
👉 When “different” looked like “delusional.”

That same year, I trusted my gut and chose community over convention:

⚖️ KC Partners became the first legal recruitment firm to sponsor a major networking event inside the UK Supreme Court, with the London Young Lawyers Group.

🏆 We co-hosted the 25th Annual Asian Legal Awards, celebrating 100 years of women in law.

🎙️ I also invested time being a guest on the Recruitment Mentors Podcast; my first ever, daring to try an alternative way of marketing and positioning myself as a thought leader while others stuck to traditional routes.

None of these moves generated immediate revenue. Some said they were a waste of time.

But I believed and still believe that community is the backbone of any business. It’s what carries you through the highs and lows. And I’m glad I stuck to that.

The reality? Your passion has to carry you through the judgement of others.

My biggest fear isn’t failure.
It’s regret.
Regret that I didn’t try because I cared too much about other people’s opinions.
