Sr Software Engineer (Python) Location: Boston (on-site) We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an innovative well-funded AI Startup based in Boston. They are transforming how civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure through AI. They are seeking someone who will play a key role in designing and developing robust, scalable systems that are critical to both their current and future products. In this role, you will work closely with a team of skilled engineers, applying your expertise to shape the best strategies for new projects while independently solving complex technical issues, with the support of your colleagues. You will use your advanced Python skills and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to develop and manage modern applications. Additionally, you'll apply Infrastructure as Code practices, particularly with Terraform, to ensure efficient deployment of our systems within AWS and EKS environments. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of our products, offering a great opportunity to expand your skills and help shape our technology stack. Responsibilities: • Design, implement and maintain high-quality and scalable systems • Work with team to determine methods and procedures to accomplish new initiatives • Coordinate activities with other team members • Tackle issues autonomously with technical review from other team members Provide mentorship and technical guidance to the team Requirements: • 5 Years of professional programming experience • Expert in modern Python, experience using modern Python language features and tooling like Poetry • Experienced with development of containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes • Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies like Terraform Experience with Github Actions for CI / CD pipelines • Experience deploying and managing applications in AWS and EKS Nice to have • Experience with ELT pipelines and data lakehouses Experience implementing integration and end-to-end tests: • Experience with the Go programming language • Experience supporting ML development activities with infrastructure and software • Experience with cost-optimization for cloud stacks in AWS Total Compensation: Salary $145-165K+ Full Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) Performance Bonus and Equity/Stock Options, Opportunities for professional growth and development About the Company Our client is a Boston-based tech startup that is revolutionizing the way civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure.
