I currently reside in Maryland, although I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I"m a foodie who also enjoys long, quiet walks and working out at the gym. I"m a passionate, lifelong learner who is involved in my community and who has been fortunate enough to have life and career goals that are aligned: to use technology to enhance people"s lives and their financial freedom. I"m a techie with an in-depth understanding of web3, crypto, and data engineering. I spend the majority of my days either developing for the next web or designing robust data pipelines. I"ve long been captivated by Python and JavaScript, and I can"t help but be drawn to the ecosystems that surround them. I"m currently a web3, data, and machine learning engineering mentor at 10 Academy, a non-profit organization, for brilliant African minds. Prior to that, I spearheaded the launch of a crypto startup from its ideation stage and put on more hats than one can count. I have also had a great deal of experience working on initiatives that find data-driven solutions for societal and commercial issues, and I"ve previously held data science internship and apprenticeship positions at Microsoft 4Afrika. Despite having had a brief but exciting career, I can"t state with certainty that I know what works in technology, the startup firm, or life in general. However, I do know what doesn"t work thanks to numerous iterations of the process of elimination, which is, in my opinion, a very, very strong quality I bring to the table.
