I run sales and product operations at Pando where we provide career protection to people in high volatility careers -- by allowing them to pool their risk. We group people with similar expected values and get them to pledge a portion of future earnings to a shared pool. This means that if someone in the pool succeeds, everyone shares in the upside. In most other areas of our life we protect ourselves from risk, we are trying to redefine how people think about career protection. The long run vision is to build a platform where anyone, in any high variance career, can pool their career risk.
