Co-Founder, Sr. Project Manager, VP Marketing @Constructschön Sustainable Urban Development A business owner, senior-level manager, visionary, leader, and mentor, Shara is passionate about true sustainability (community, land, and property development), for urban and peri-urban environments. She believes in the necessary collaboration and integration of the community, environment, and economy, to transform lives, effect change, progress society, and achieve greater good! Areas of particular interest to Shara are high-density, mixed-used, commercial and institutional spaces encourage enhanced living, and thriving local business. An integral part of this effort focuses on the built environment and urban development projects as they engage with densification, Indigenous housing, homelessness, and our elders. She is motivated by a desire to influence, impact and inform our lived experience here in Canada (Alberta and Ontario), and internationally, by adopting innovation, and positioning for rapid evolution. She successfully advises and forges cross-disciplinary stakeholder relationships, including investors, partners, owners, and multi-disciplinary experts - to leverage creative thinking and systems, to build high performing teams, impactful projects, successful developments, and outcomes. Shara started her 20-plus years career in manufacturing, and Nuclear & Safety engineering, progressing to EPCM, Oil & Gas consulting, landing on Development and ICI construction. She has a background in Materials Science and Engineering (B.Sc. Hons) from The University of Manchester & UMIST (UK), Project Management certification, and has founded and co-founded several not-for-profit, and community-based initiatives across Pakistan, the UK, and in Canada. In 2019 her company Constructschon was selected as a qualified design-build team on Edmonton (Alberta, Canada) Blatchford sustainable development community with district-tied energy. Constructschon ventures include: - Lunch with Power! - a Canadian social enterprise and initiative by Constructschön. A dynamic forum for BIPOC business-women and owners to connect deeply, personally and professionally. - SustainDAO - a Canadian fund that provides (local and global) socially responsible investors and real estate investors an opportunity to invest in "vide-normale" sustainable developments that are med-high-density, mixed-use, to address wellness, commerce, housing, affordability, multi-cultural/inter-gen and ageing populations.
