Steven Binetter is an accomplished investment professional based in the New York area, with nearly two decades of experience in public markets and private investments. He has developed a reputation for generating strong, consistent returns through his leadership in portfolio management and strategic decision-making. Binetter"s career includes a significant tenure at Marshall Wace, a global long and short equity hedge fund managing approximately 70 billion dollars in assets. From August 2015 to May 2025, he held key roles at the firm, starting as Portfolio Manager and ultimately serving as Partner in 2023. During his time at Marshall Wace, he was the sole investment team member on the U.S. Management Committee, where he played a critical role in driving performance across diverse investment strategies. Steve Binetter joined Marshall Wace when the firm had just 15 billion dollars in assets under management and a small U.S. team of about 25 employees. In 2015, he launched the Global Industrials strategy, internally known as the Eureka Fund. Beginning with approximately 200 million dollars in gross market value, he grew this fund to 1.5 billion dollars by the end of 2016. By 2025, the fund had expanded to manage between 3 and 7 billion dollars in assets. He built and led a team of seven investment professionals, achieving very low turnover with only two departures over a decade. From 2021 to 2025, Steve Binetter also co-managed the MW XO Digital Finance Fund, a private vehicle with 450 million dollars in assets under management. This role saw him source, research, and manage a significant portion of the fund’s investments, including notable companies such as Circle, Human Interest, Lukka, TRM Labs, and Accelerant. His work within this fund highlighted his focus on businesses at the intersection of financial services and technology, particularly those involved in building data, infrastructure, compliance, and insurance capabilities for institutional clients. Before his time at Marshall Wace, Binetter worked at Eminence Capital in New York from 2007 to 2015.
