I started my professional career at Gilo Industries as a Project Manager within the Aerospace industry in 2016. I was then very fortunate to progress onto the role of the Assistant Head of Engineering and look after 12 Engineers within the department. My Second experience within industry was the role of Cost Engineer within the Cost Engineering Design and Development team at Jaguar Land Rover, I aimed to develop my skill sets in calculating efficient and detailed Should costs but also creating, managing and monitoring programme strategies and providing reports to aid the profitability review of new vehicles. My Third Role was at Aston Martin Lagonda as a Senior Cost Engineer, I loved the challenge of understanding and creating Should costs for Vendor Tooling and Piece Price to influence affordability on some of the most exciting Vehicle Programmes in existence. This entailed utilising CMS, Aston Martin Cost Estimating System and Schmale to create ground up should costs and could costs to deliver the products on time and on quality at the right cost working within the procurement function fluidly. I then went back to Jaguar Land Rover working as a Senior Cost Engineer for Powertrain Systems. I used this opportunity to develop my knowledge in another commodity as I believe this made me a more rounded engineer. Furthermore, I was able to add new manufacturing methods to my knowledge bank and develop detailed cost models for specific "problem area" components such as Hydroformed pipes (intermediate pipes). I was very fortunate during the back end of the Pandemic to have been able to work at Bentley Motors as a Senior Cost Engineer looking after BIW, Chassis, Powertrain Systems and Interior commodities. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to work for a large group OEM and learn the way they operate. I also brought in my depth of knowledge to support and help shape the way cost engineering works with my cost models that I had created to help shape the VAVE/ CE department. I am currently a Business Consulting Manager - Operations at Grant Thornton LLP. I am using all my industry knowledge within Engineering, Procurement and Finance in order to help push boundaries and explore opportunities within all types of businesses. Open to opportunities within the Automotive/ Aerospace and Motorsport industry.
