Women Entrepreneur Night at Microsoft


Entre is hosting the Women Entrepreneur Night at the Microsoft Office in New York City for the growing community of women entrepreneurs, artists, creators, and innovators.

Our monthly events bring people together to openly discuss and share ideas with like-minded individuals. We welcome entrepreneurs of all types, start-ups of all sizes, industries, and stages to join us in finding the inspiration, resources, and friends that will make them successful.

Whether our members are just beginning to build a company, or are years into their venture, We aim to refer to the best services available for helping them achieve their goals. We aim to work with sponsors and partners who share our vision in helping the start-up community grow and succeed.

Veronica Apsan

Veronica Apsan is the founder and host of Fashion Aficionado. She is an award-winning humanitarian and fashion designer who has worked with non-profits like Make-A-Wish America, United Federation of Teachers (UFT), Children of the United Nations, Culture-for-One Organization, and fashion houses like Trina Turk, Pendleton, and George Simonton Couture. Additionally she is working with scientists to develop smart textiles infused with plant-based healing properties catering to sport, athleisure, and medical markets.


Nicole Shimer

Nicole Shimer is a member of the Investment Team at Insight Venture Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm based in NYC. Insight has managed over $20bn since 1995 and invested in over 300 software and internet companies.

Alicia Thomas

Alicia Thomas is the founder and CEO of Dibs Technology. Dibs has built a framework that automatically calculates the lifetime value of each customer, then delivers long-term incentives to customers that have the highest potential. In short, Dibs leverages data to drive long-term loyalty.

Amy Coveny

Amy Coveny is a Managing Partner Quake Capital Partners. Amy Coveny has extensive experience in building revenue, products, and market strategies for startup companies. Since the beginning of her career in TV, she has contributed to six acquisitions, three IPOs, and two early-stage fundraising cycles. During her tenure as the Global Head of Audio for Rubicon Project, she worked with Spotify to extend programmatic Audio to international audiences. Her years as Vice President of Catch5 saw her develop a video content syndication model in the health and wellness space to customize the brand experience. Amy has been an Advisor to Quake Capital since the launch of its accelerator program, providing market insights and tips to companies such as pippa.io, eSports, DataGran, Frenzy, and UniversityBeyond. With experiences in media, AdTech, emerging technology, and sales globally, Amy has played an instrumental part in a variety of successful ventures. Consistently ahead of the curve, she knows what it takes for startups to reach–and exceed–their goals. As a Managing Partner of the New York office, Amy will grow and expand Quake Capital’s Accelerator program, Investor Network, and Fundraising.

Maryann Reid

Maryann Reid is a 6-time award-winning author published by St. Martins Press, and former Digital Managing Editor at Black Enterprise magazine. She is the founder of Alphanista, a peer mentoring platform for multicultural women in senior management. She works with women who struggle with identifying concrete gaps they have to reaching the next level and would like to get there with ease. Maryann brings together high-achieving women who tend to go at it alone and receive the exponential growth and expanded reach from other inspiring women. Most recently, Maryann worked in Abu Dhabi, and inspired a new group of women in the States to expand their global outlook beyond where they are now. As an author and professional speaker, Maryann has gathered a diverse roster of credentials and affiliations. She has been featured in USA Today, Essence, Glamour, The CBS Early Show, Wendy Williams and The New Yorker. She has advanced degrees from Fordham University and University of Miami. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Sue-Ellen Watts

Sue-Ellen Watts is known for her success building an Australia born consulting firm helping small to medium businesses and fast growth startups create high performance from the top down. Her expertise is dealing with Founders and entrepreneurs because she is one; now she has taken her expertise to New York City to ramp up her knowledge sharing. In addition, she is a Co-Founder of two tech startups that are both leading the way in their respective industries. A true entrepreneur, Sel challenges the status quo to create business for the future. The Unconventional Life weekly vlog is Sel’s way of sharing her journey of expanding her brands globally, chasing a dream and ‘having a crack’ at living a “no plan b” life. Her latest venture, wattsnext, has brought her to New York City.
