Even if you are in a professional position, there are times when you have to set professionalism aside to get your point across. When dealing with an individual that will not accept the answer given, I have a three-step process I go through. 1. Answer their question calmly and directly 2. Answer their question calmly, but add a sternness to the answer 3. Let them know that the answer will not change just because they don't like it. Some people say I'm mean and have no patience in doing this, but if you think about it, time is money.
